This quote captures my thoughts today so perfectly. I was just thinking about how crossfit has taught me that you haven’t failed until you really fail. Being afraid of failure, and quitting before you fail, isn’t going to get you anywhere. So many people do this because they don’t want to look stupid or put themselves out there and it’s just holding you back from your true potential.
It’s funny how weightlifting can illustrate this so well, but you really feel it, physically, when you’re playing it safe or when you’re actually pushing yourself to the point of failure. Gradually increasing the weight on your barbell until you absolutely cannot lift anymore; either the bar won’t come off the ground or you won’t be able to push up from that last squat, but you can then walk away knowing exactly where that line is between success and failure. And knowing where that line is gives you the ability and confidence to move that line forward, bringing your success to a new level.
